Derek Wilson was born and raised in the Michiana region and currently resides in Wakarusa, IN. He works for a North American Coatings Company, serving as their Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager, responsible for 11 business units. He completed his undergraduate studies at Tri-State University (now Trine University) in 2004, graduating with a B.S. in Criminal Justice.

He enlisted shortly afterward in the United States Army as an Airborne Infantryman. His duty stations included Fort Richardson, AK, serving with the 4th BCT 25th ID (ABN), where he was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for 15 months from 2006 to 2007 and to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2009 to 2010. He was then stationed at Fort Benning, GA, as an instructor.

With the University of Notre Dame being in close proximity to where Derek has grown up all his life, and a place that feels like home when you step foot on it, it made sense for him to apply to their Global Executive MBA program. He has been blessed to be accepted into the class of 2026. God, Country, Notre Dame.
