Nikki Gramm

Biography

As a Filipino immigrant, my mother instilled in me a strong sense of resilience and gratitude which ultimately fueled my decision to serve my country. During my military experience, I was a Nuclear Machinist Mate and led many professional roles which honed my leadership and communication skills. It was also during my time in service that I became very inspired to study stem cell engineering and regenerative medicine after I got my gallbladder surgery.
The same year I left the military, I also finished my Bachelors degree in BioEngineering in Oregon State University. As our next chapter, my husband and I decided to move to Indiana to be closer to family and to pursue my research career in University of Notre Dame as a PhD student.
