Biography

Sunny Choi grew up not too far from the University of Notre Dame in Glenview, Illinois, and graduated from Glenbrook South High School in 2020. From there, Sunny attended the United States Air Force Academy, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering and Applied Mathematics. At the Academy, Sunny was also a Soaring Instructor Pilot, introducing cadets to the world of aviation by teaching them to fly gliders. After graduating as a member of the United States Air Force Academy Class of 2024, Sunny commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and headed to the University of Notre Dame as the first assignment to pursue a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on hypersonics under Professor Thomas Juliano and his team through the DAWN-ED Scholarship.
