Undergraduate Student Veteran, Neuroscience and Behavioral Studies Major - Class of 2025
Shauna Staples, a native of Weatherford, Texas, enlisted in the Navy to make a positive difference in the world, to serve her country and to learn about other people and cultures. After six years of serving as an Nuclear Electrician on a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in the United States Navy, she was ready to pursue her dream of attending the University of Notre Dame.
Shauna gained leadership experience and a global perspective serving in the Navy, but always knew education was important to her. A member of Notre Dame's Class of 2025, she is pursuing her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Studies on a Pre-Med track. Upon graduation, she hopes to attend Medical School to become a surgeon.
