American Corporate Partners (ACP) is a national non-profit that pairs veterans with experienced business leaders in a one-on-one, year-long virtual mentorship at no cost to participants. Since 2008, more than 17,000 veterans have completed the ACP program.

Jay Flaherty,1979 graduate of Notre Dame, and Trustee of the University since 2007, and ACP Director since 2017, is spearheading an initiative to pair Notre Dame enrolled student veterans with Notre Dame alumni. Jay and his wife Mary have seen firsthand how effective the program can be and are sponsoring the initial cohort of Notre Dame student veterans who will complete the ACP program during the 2020–2021 academic year.

The power of the ACP program includes monthly one-on-one, hour-long discussions—typically virtual—with a highly accomplished Notre Dame alum. Your hand-selected mentor can help you plan a fulfilling career and bridge the gap between the military and private sector.

Mentorship topics include:

  • Career exploration
  • Work-life balance
  • Networking
  • Small business development
  • Leadership and professional communication
  • Résumé review and interview preparation

Regan Jones, director for Notre Dame Military & Veterans Affairs, participated in the ACP program when he transitioned from military service. He is one of thousands of veterans who have benefited from this effective program.

Spots are limited, so please apply promptly on the ACP website and list Notre Dame in the application referral line. Additional information is available on the ACP website.
